About MeHi! I'm currently an instructor of record in the Geology and Geophysics Dept. at Louisiana State University!
I completed my dissertation in Geosciences at Arizona State University, in Tempe, AZ. My work integrates sedimentology, stratigraphy, tephra geochemistry, and structural geology to reconstruct Plio-Pleistocene depositional environments in East Africa. I'm interested in how tectonic, volcanic, and climate mechanisms interact to shape terrestrial paleo-landscapes in extensional sedimentary basins and how these landscape changes could have influenced the evolution of hominins and other vertebrates. I'm also interested in the development and relationships between volcanism and extensional sedimentary basins. My research involves lab- and field-based work which you can learn more about under the research tab above. |
